On the building of the city’s swimming pool, a solar power plant with a capacity of 100 kilowatts was installed. The City of Šabac received this energy unit under the cross-border cooperation project “Biosol +”.
Environmental protection, risk assessment, prevention, and promotion of energy efficiency are important areas in which the City of Šabac develops and improves through such projects, and the acquisition of this solar power plant is an example of responsible management of the obtained funds. The costs for electricity consumption from the grid will be significantly reduced at the city pool. On an annual level, the electrical energy bills are expected to be lowered by 30%.
The purchase value of the solar power plant with installation is EUR 90,000.
In addition to the purchase of this power plant, the plan is also to purchase six electric bicycles, with a public solar-powered charging station.
