BIOSOL project held several activities

The month of April, when the World Day of Renewable Energy Sources is celebrated, was an opportunity for the “BIOSOL +” project to realize three workshops and a round table with the aim of promoting renewable energy sources and energy efficiency.

Workshops for representatives of the non-governmental sector and our senior citizens were held under the title “Application of renewable energy sources in everyday life”.

The second workshop was intended for educators, teachers, and high school students from both cities.

The third workshop, entitled “Using new knowledge to improve production”, was organized for the representatives of the business sector and individual agricultural producers to improve their production with new knowledge about sustainable energy sources and acquire new knowledge that will help them better market their products.

The series of workshops ended with a Round table and discussions of the representatives of local governments from both sides of the border on the topic of implementing energy efficiency projects, as well as needs and plans on the topic of “Renewable energy sources”.

In addition to the above, on April 21, 2023, on the Day of the City, in the Training Centre in Šabac, as well as on April 26, 2023, in Nova Gradiška on the World Day of Renewable Energy Sources, exhibitions of children’s works on the topic: “Renewable source energies – as I see them” were organized.

The exhibitions were organized as part of the implementation of the BIOSOL + project, and the goal was to present the importance and possibilities of applying renewable energy sources through the presentation of works and models of preschool and early school-aged children prepared by children from Nova Gradiška and Šabac.

Along with the representatives of the cities of Nova Gradiška and Šabac who opened the exhibitions, the exhibition was conducted by a project team from the two cities and LAG “Western Slavonia” and the results of the activities of the BIOSOL + project so far, were presented to the young participants.

During the program in Nova Gradiška, the students of the Ljudevit Gaj Elementary School presented the activities of the Eco-School, while the students of the Electrotechnical and Economic School in Nova Gradiška presented their solar car and electric scooter.

In Šabac, during the opening program of the exhibition, children from kindergartens performed a suitable program and presented their works.

The BIOSOL + project is a continuation of the cross-border cooperation of two cross-border cities within the Interreg IPA cross-border cooperation program Croatia-Serbia 2014-2020.
