During the course of the project DIGIARCH, a significant milestone was reached with the arrival, installation, and calibration of the archival scanners. These devices, designed to digitize historical documents and materials, became a crucial tool in preserving fragile records that could otherwise deteriorate over time. By creating high-quality digital copies, the project ensured that these valuable resources would be safeguarded for future generations.

Installation and calibration were carried out in close collaboration with experts from the manufacturer, who guided the process step by step. Staff had the opportunity to observe the setup, learning how to handle delicate archival materials safely and how to optimize the scanners for accurate, high-quality results.

The scanners were installed in both Magadenovac and Apatin Municipalities, marking the beginning of the active digitalization phase within the project. Their deployment allowed the team to process archival collections efficiently while maintaining precision and high output quality. Digitalization not only preserved the content of the documents but also made them more accessible. Once available in digital form, records could be consulted by researchers, students, and the general public without risking damage to the originals.

The project DIGIARCH also transformed the way archives are managed. Digitized records with metadata tagging and organized storage made it easier to locate and share information among project partners and institutions. This step laid the foundation for long-term sustainability, ensuring that the historical value of documents would not be lost due to decay, mishandling, or restricted physical access.

With scanners fully operational, the project continued with staff training and hands-on activities, empowering the team to utilize the technology effectively and build a growing digital repository. By bridging traditional archives with modern digital accessibility, the project achieved both preservation and wider dissemination of historical knowledge.
