The Tourism Organisation of Vojvodina hosted the kick-off conference of the AIpromTOUR – AI as a Boost for CBC Tourism Destination project in Novi Sad on 9 and 10 July 2026. The project is co-funded under the Interreg VI-A IPA Croatia–Serbia Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2021–2027.
The first day of the conference, held at the Master Congress Centre of the Novi Sad Fair, brought together representatives of public institutions, the tourism sector, and experts in tourism and digital technologies. The event provided an opportunity to present the project’s objectives and planned activities, while fostering the exchange of knowledge and experiences on the application of artificial intelligence in sustainable tourism development.

Opening the conference, Milan Jarić, Acting Assistant Provincial Secretary for Economy and Tourism, and Milivoj Kovačević, Acting Director of the Tourism Organisation of Vojvodina, highlighted the importance of cross-border cooperation and innovative digital solutions in strengthening the competitiveness of the region’s tourism offer.
Dr Sandra Poleksić, representing the Tourism Organisation of Vojvodina, presented the AIpromTOUR project, outlining its objectives, planned activities and expected results. The project aims to promote sustainable tourism development in the cross-border area of Croatia and Serbia by introducing artificial intelligence-based solutions. Planned activities include the development of AI tools for tourism marketing, data analysis and visitor experience enhancement, as well as the preparation of a joint strategic framework for the application of artificial intelligence in the tourism sector.

On the second day, participants took part in a study visit to Fruška Gora, where they visited the Mala Remeta Monastery and Fruškogorska Lugarnica. The visit showcased the tourism potential of Fruška Gora National Park, with a particular focus on wine tourism, cultural heritage and sustainable tourism development.

The AIpromTOUR project is implemented by the Tourism Organisation of Vojvodina as the Lead Partner, in partnership with the Croatian National Tourist Board, the Vukovar-Srijem County Tourist Board and the Danube Competence Center. With a total budget of EUR 786,107, the project runs from 1 February 2026 to 31 January 2028.
