As part of the Interreg VI-A IPA Programme Croatia–Serbia and the CALL4HER project, an international symposium dedicated to women’s health was successfully held on 28–29 May 2026 at Banja Junaković in Apatin, Serbia. The event was organized by project partner Apatin Health Centre and brought together leading medical experts from across the region.
The two-day symposium focused on the theme “Prevention, Diagnosis and Treatment of Breast Cancer”, one of the most pressing public health challenges worldwide. Through expert presentations, panel discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions, participants exchanged experiences and explored innovative approaches to improving women’s healthcare services.
The programme addressed three key pillars in the fight against breast cancer:
- Prevention – raising awareness and promoting healthy lifestyles to reduce risk factors;
- Diagnosis – highlighting the importance of early detection and the latest screening and diagnostic methods;
- Treatment – presenting modern therapeutic approaches and the value of multidisciplinary patient care.

The symposium provided an important platform for healthcare professionals to strengthen cross-border cooperation, share best practices and discuss strategies for improving the quality and accessibility of healthcare services for women.
Through initiatives such as CALL4HER, the Interreg VI-A IPA Programme Croatia–Serbia continues to foster collaboration between healthcare institutions and professionals, contributing to better medical services, enhanced support systems and improved health outcomes for women throughout the cross-border region.
By connecting expertise, innovation and cooperation, the project is helping build a healthier future for communities on both sides of the border.
