Over the past several months, the Interreg IPA Croatia–Serbia project BloodRheoApp has intensified its international presence, presenting new research findings and promoting digital tools aimed at reducing cardiovascular risk.
At the 35th International Congress of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV), held in Paris from 17 to 20 September 2025, researchers showcased results linked to the BloodRheoApp application — a user-friendly digital solution designed to help assess and lower cardiovascular risk.
During the congress, Associate Professor Stana Tokić presented a poster titled “Biological Therapy Enhances Microvascular Reactivity and Lowers Fibrinogen in Psoriasis Patients.” The study highlighted how biological therapy can improve microvascular function and reduce inflammatory markers in patients with psoriasis, demonstrating measurable improvements in vascular reactivity and decreased fibrinogen levels. The findings drew considerable interest from the international dermatology community and sparked discussion on the systemic vascular effects of biological treatments in inflammatory skin diseases.

Beyond scientific congresses, the BloodRheoApp team has focused strongly on public education, emphasizing the importance of prevention and early understanding of cardiovascular disease development. On 12 November 2025, the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad hosted a public lecture titled “The Pathophysiology of Cardiovascular Diseases,” attracting a broad audience that included students, researchers and members of the general public.

A second lecture, “Blood Rheology and Personalized Hydration in the Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases,” was held on 21 November 2025 at Hotel Osijek. The event gathered more than 120 participants, including students and staff from Medicine, Pharmacy and Medical Laboratory Diagnostics programmes, alongside interested citizens. The strong turnout underscored growing public awareness of personalized approaches to cardiovascular prevention.
The project’s results were also presented at the 17th Symposium of Medical Informatics, titled “From Data to Decisions: Connecting Knowledge, Practice and Technology in Medical Informatics,” organized by the Croatian Society for Medical Informatics and the Teaching Institute of Public Health “Dr. Andrija Štampar” in Zagreb on 27–28 November 2025. Associate Professor Krešimir Šolić delivered an oral presentation on behalf of the project and participated in a workshop dedicated to Croatia’s Central Health Information System (CEZIH).
Led by Associate Professor Stana Tokić, the BloodRheoApp project continues to demonstrate how medical informatics can support data-driven decision-making in healthcare. Discussions at the symposium reinforced the importance of integrating clinical data, technological innovation and regulatory frameworks to strengthen modern healthcare systems — with digital tools such as BloodRheoApp positioned at the forefront of that transformation.
