Recently the INNOBEE project team convened in Novi Sad for its first two project meetings, marking an important step in the early phase of implementation. Discussions focused on launching initial activities and aligning priorities for the months ahead.
Work has already begun on one of the project’s central components—the construction of a cross-border beekeeping centre between Croatia and Serbia. At the same time, team members have initiated preparations of tender documentation for upcoming procurement procedures, laying the administrative groundwork for further project development.
The INNOBEE project officially commenced on 15 January 2026 and will run over a two-year period. It brings together partners from both countries, including the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences Osijek (Croatia); the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Agriculture (Serbia); the Scientific Veterinary Institute “Novi Sad” (Serbia); and the Fund for European Affairs and Development of AP Vojvodina (Serbia).
Through joint efforts, the partners aim to establish a cross-border centre dedicated to supporting apiculture by constructing and upgrading facilities. The project also seeks to strengthen the knowledge and skills of beekeepers by promoting the adoption of innovative practices, while fostering closer cooperation between research institutions and the business sector, including entrepreneurs, associations, and small and medium-sized enterprises.
