About

The RESCUE project provides an answer to potentials of using renewable energy sources (RES) in the cross-border area. Bearing in mind that most publicly owned buildings do not use renewable energy or that institutions responsible for energy management of these buildings are not familiar with benefits regarding renewable energy, this unawareness has become a concern. The main objective of RESCUE is to demonstrate innovative energy sources and energy-efficient methods for public buildings. The project builds on existing experiences of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computing and Information Technology in Osijek and the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad in the use of renewable energy sources, which they will use to develop innovations with new partners: Clinical Centers of Vojvodina and Osijek and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Slavonski Brod. The partnership will establish the Buildings Energy Management Systems in order to demonstrate how hospitals and colleges can reduce energy consumption and develop low-carbon solutions, and how cross-border cooperation responds to climate challenges.

Partners

Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad (SER) is the project’s lead partner, in charge of installing the RES-based Buildings Energy Management System at the Faculty’s main building. In addition to demonstrating the importance of energy efficient measures, the Faculty will also coordinate the partnership and ensure visibility of results.

Clinical Center of Vojvodina (SER) will implement the RES-based Buildings Energy Management System at the Center’s main building, in this way demonstrating how healthcare facilities can lower their carbon footprint. The partner will also install a biodiesel production system and use waste oil for producing biodiesel.

Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology Osijek (CRO) is in charge of implementing the RES-based Buildings Energy Management System at the main building and campus. Partner will provide expertise with tasks concerning communication activities, scientific research, educational and promotional activities for target groups.

As other partners, Clinical Hospital Center Osijek (CRO) will implement the RES-based Buildings Energy Management System and in this way showcase how clean technologies can produce electrical energy. The Clinical Hospital Center Osijek will also increase visibility of project results and raise awareness on benefits of smart technologies.

In addition to installing the Buildings Energy Management System, Mechanical Engineering Faculty in Slavonski Brod (CRO) will raise awareness and educate local authorities about RESCUE activities
