We are happy to announce that the project “XBIT” co-financed by the Programme has been nominated as one of 25 finalists of the 2020 RegioStars competition for the best EU cohesion policy projects in 5 categories. An independent jury has selected 5 finalists per category among 206 high-quality applications received as record achievement this year.
As of today, the public is encouraged to vote for their favourite project until 15 September.
The project “XBIT” is one of the finalists in the category 5 “Youth empowerment for cooperation across borders”. Amongst other things, thanks to the project, a Cross border network of ICT stakeholders was created, and educational, motivational and networking programmes, established Fab Labs and Mobile Lab were designed and implemented. We are also very proud of the fact that XBIT project team used equipment and materials procured through the project to design and produce protective visor masks for medical workers in Croatia and Serbia during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The RegioStars 2020 5-category winners and the winner of the Public Choice Award will be announced on 14 October 2020 during the European Week of Regions and Cities in Brussels.
