Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture Osijek, partner in the project, organized a workshop for stakeholders with the aim of promoting green energy and sustainable cities. The workshop was held in Osijek on July 6, 2023.
Four lectures presented main ideas and activities which will be implemented through the project and the importance of implementation of general measures which can improve the energy efficiency of buildings.
Hrvoje Krstić, dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture in Osijek presented the importance of energy efficiency of buildings and the importance of energy certificates.
Ivana Miličević, professor at Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture in Osijek presented all the “green” projects that the faculty is implementing, which focus on the use of recycled materials in construction.
Srećko Kukić, from City of Osijek which is also partner in the project referred to the legal regulations for the installation of solar power plants, which the Republic of Croatia is increasingly adjusting for private investors, as well as public institutions.
Stevan Savić, project manager from the Lead Partner institution (Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad ) presented the results of the first phase of the project and next steps towards greener and more sustainable cities from the both sides of the border.
The feedback and questions from the audience at this workshop proved that people of Osijek are very interested in renewable energy sources, sustainable materials and green infrastructure, which, in addition to numerous savings, can also contribute to improving the quality of life.
