Thanks to the S.O.O.S. project, an educational video raising awareness of how to respond when someone suffers a sudden cardiac arrest is being shown to citizens in Sombor. The initiative aims to improve public awareness and equip citizens with the knowledge and skills needed to act in these life-threatening situations.
As part of the project, practical training sessions were also held in several populated areas across the City of Sombor, with the aim of teaching citizens how to respond appropriately to sudden cardiac arrest.
During the training sessions, participants learned how to recognize the signs of cardiac arrest, promptly initiate basic life support (CPR) and safely use an automated external defibrillator (AED).
Through practical demonstrations and hands-on exercises, doctors from the Emergency Medical Service introduced participants to essential procedures that can make a difference in the first few minutes following cardiac arrest, before the arrival of emergency medical teams.
The S.O.O.S. project emphasizes the importance of public awareness, education and timely intervention. By combining educational materials with practical training, the project aims to empower citizens to respond confidently and potentially save lives in emergency situations.
