The project RE@CT – Regional Empowerment for Advanced Collaboration and Technology, implemented under the Interreg IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme Croatia – Serbia 2021–2027, clearly demonstrates what cross-border cooperation means in practice. The Industrial Park Nova Gradiška Ltd. and the Centre for Professional Development in Šabac have equipped their facilities with state-of-the-art technology, and the first testing activities have already begun.

In Nova Gradiška, a workshop for laser technologies has been established – a place where modern machines, new computer equipment, and VR systems will be used not only for production processes but also for education, training, and the development of new ideas. Here, entrepreneurs, students, and young professionals will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge equipment and acquire skills that are crucial for Industry 4.0.

In Šabac, the Centre for Professional Development has launched laboratories for robotics and mechatronics. Robotic arms, AI systems, sensors, and solar-powered tools are now becoming an integral part of practical training and exercises. This provides both students and teachers with the chance to learn and explore in conditions comparable to those of modern industrial environments.

A special value of the project lies in the strong connection between the partners. The Industrial Park Nova Gradiška Ltd. and CSU Šabac are jointly developing new models of work and education, while the International Center for Knowledge and Technology Transfer, Partnership and Innovation (ICTTI) contributes with its expertise and experience. This unique combination – local infrastructure, regional cooperation, and international know-how – makes RE@CT a true example of how joint efforts can build a sustainable future.

The start of equipment testing in both institutions is only the first step. Training sessions, workshops, and programmes will follow, providing long-term benefits for the economy and education on both sides of the border. RE@CT clearly shows that European funds, when used in the right synergy of partners, can create new opportunities, new knowledge, and new value for the entire community.
