On 4 June 2026, the Tourist Organisation of the City of Subotica and Palić Zoo organised an Open Day event within the framework of the cross-border project “Majestic ZOOs”, bringing together more than 450 children and parents from Subotica and the surrounding area.

The event showcased the newly developed facilities created through the project, including a children’s playground, an outdoor classroom, and the “Baby Zoo” area. Through a variety of workshops, educational activities, and close encounters with animals, visitors had the opportunity to learn about wildlife, biodiversity, and the importance of nature conservation in an engaging and interactive way.

Particular attention was attracted by the “Baby Zoo” concept, a petting zoo area that allows children and families to observe and interact with selected animals under the supervision of experienced zoo staff. The newly established outdoor classroom and playground further enrich Palić Zoo’s educational and tourism offer, creating new opportunities for family-oriented recreation and learning.

The Open Day was organised with the aim of promoting family tourism and presenting the new facilities developed through the “Majestic ZOOs” project. The project is implemented through cross-border cooperation and contributes to enhancing the tourism offer of the programme area while supporting sustainable tourism development.

The excellent turnout and the enthusiasm of the youngest visitors once again confirmed that Palić Zoo is one of the region’s favourite destinations for family outings, environmental education, and enjoying nature.
