At the Beekeeping Experimental Station of the Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences Osijek in Bilje, on 22 May 2026, a ceremony was held to mark the beginning of construction works on the Cross-Border Centre for Beekeeping Support as part of the INNOBEE project – Innovative Solutions for Enhancing Beekeeping Processes and Modernizing Support in Apiculture in the Cross-Border Region of Croatia and Serbia – within the Interreg VI-A IPA Croatia–Serbia 2021–2027 Programme.

The project is focused on developing innovative solutions to improve beekeeping processes, modernize support for apiculture, protect bee colonies, and strengthen cooperation between science, professionals, and beekeepers in the cross-border region of Croatia and Serbia.

The future centre in Bilje will be dedicated to research, education, and the transfer of new technologies in beekeeping. It will include facilities for professional and laboratory work, processing of bee products, educational activities, and programmes aimed at transferring new knowledge to beekeepers, university students, school pupils, and the wider public.
