Today, the Action plan for Crisis Situations on the Danube was presented at a round table, clearly defining the roles and responsibilities of all competent services in the event of major accidents, such as ship fires, passenger rescue, or interventions in cases of water pollution.

The project “Interventions on the Danube” (I.D. Danube) is aimed at strengthening the readiness and efficiency of emergency services to enable even faster, more coordinated, and safer responses in emergency situations, with a single goal of the protection of human lives.

As a reminder, I.D.Danube is valued at nearly 1.8 million EU, with 85% non-reimbursable co-financing provided through the Interreg VI-A IPA Croatia-Serbia 2021-2027 Programme. The Lead partner of the project is Vukovar-Srijem County, and the project is implemented in partnership with the Public Institution Port Authority Vukovar, Fund for European Affairs and Development of AP Vojvodina, and the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia, Sector for Emergency Management

The project provide valuable equipment for water interventions, including fireboats, floating barriers, underwater drones, pick-up vehicles, and specialised equipment for public fire brigades. Joint planning, investment, and cooperation are making the Danube safer for everyone.
