As of May, all equipment planned for procurement under the DIGIPATH project has been successfully delivered and installed in the laboratory at Oncology Institute of Vojvodina. The installation process followed technical requirements, ensuring that all devices are fully functional and ready for use.
A key role in the digital transformation and overall digitalization of the laboratory is played by the 3DHISTECH Pannoramic Desk, a compact digital pathology slide scanner. As the central element of the digital workflow, it converts histopathology glass slides into high-resolution digital images that can be viewed, stored, and analyzed on a computer, forming the basis of a fully digital pathology environment.
By enabling these functions, the scanner significantly improves workflow efficiency, enhances inter-laboratory collaboration, and allows more precise and standardized evaluation of pathological samples, making it a core driver of the transition to digital pathology. In parallel, comprehensive staff training sessions were organized and completed, focusing on safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and best practices. This ensured smooth integration of the equipment into daily work and full utilization of its capabilities.
The completion of these activities marks an important milestone in the project implementation and provides a strong foundation for upcoming research and educational activities in the next project phase.
