As part of the Be-Healthy project, funded by the Interreg IPA Croatia–Serbia 2021–2027 Programme, a workshop entitled “Nutritional Counselling in the Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases and Type 2 Diabetes” was held yesterday at the Public Health Institute of Osijek-Baranja County. The workshop was led by Ivana Sović, MSc in Nutrition.

The primary aim of the workshop was to educate healthcare professionals about the role of nutritional counselling in preventing these diseases and provide guidance on counselling the project’s target groups.

The Be-Healthy project aims to improve the health of people living in rural areas by preventing cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes. As part of the project, a mobile clinic will visit rural communities where access to preventive and healthcare services is limited, providing preventive health examinations and counselling based on the results.

Another important aspect of the project is the exchange of knowledge and experience among project partners. The project brings together expertise from Osijek in nutritional counselling and Novi Sad in nutrigenetic analysis, with the aim of improving preventive healthcare approaches and enhancing the health of rural populations.

In addition to the Public Health Institute of Osijek-Baranja County, the project partners include the Institute of Public Health Sombor, the Institute of Public Health of Vojvodina, and the Provincial Secretariat for European Affairs and Development of AP Vojvodina.

By educating healthcare professionals and exchanging expertise, we are laying the foundations for more effective disease prevention and healthier rural communities.
