S.O.O.S. Citizens of Sombor Learned How to Save Lives in Emergency Situations

During the previous weeks, the “Dr. Đorđe Lazić” Health Center in Sombor, i.e. the doctors of the Emergency Medical Service, carried out citizen education within the framework of the S.O.O.S. IPA project.

The trainings were held in populated areas on the territory of the City of Sombor, with the aim of citizens acquiring basic knowledge about the proper response in situations of sudden cardiac arrest.

During the practical trainings, the participants had the opportunity to learn how to recognize a cardiac arrest, how to promptly start basic resuscitation measures and how to properly and safely use an automatic external defibrillator (AED).

Through practical examples and exercises, the doctors of the Emergency Medical Service brought the citizens closer to the procedures that can be of great importance in the first minutes after a cardiac arrest, that is, until the arrival of the Emergency Medical Service team.

In this way, through the S.O.O.S. project, the “Dr. Đorđe Lazić” Health Center in Sombor contributed to the spread of knowledge about the provision of first aid and the importance of a timely response in the local community.
