A transnational event within the framework of the REBIOFORESTS project was held on May 29, 2026, at the Morović Forest Administration, part of the Sremska Mitrovica Forest Estate, organized by PE “Vojvodinašume” as a project partner.

The event was carried out as part of cooperation between institutions and organizations from Serbia and Croatia on a project aimed at strengthening the resilience of forest ecosystems to climate change and enhancing cross-border cooperation in the field of forest restoration.

During the event, the results achieved so far within the REBIOFORESTS project – “Strengthening Cross-Border Capacities to Improve the Climate Resilience of Forest Ecosystems through Advanced Assessment, Testing, and Demonstration of Ecosystem Restoration Solutions” – were presented, with a special focus on the field demonstration of forest restoration activities being implemented in the “Radinska–Vranjak” management unit.

In addition to partner organizations, the event was attended by representatives of scientific and research institutions, universities, civil society organizations engaged in nature protection, as well as development centers from Serbia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As part of the program, a field visit to the pilot area was organized, where activities carried out on an area of 21.31 hectares aimed at the restoration of pedunculate oak were presented. Participants had the opportunity to learn about two enhanced forest restoration models applied at the site. In one part of the area, mechanized sowing of pedunculate oak was carried out, while in another section, pedunculate oak seedlings were planted using a block system, with the application of hydrogel to preserve moisture and improve seedling establishment.
