On Friday, 15 May 2026, the opening conference of the Be-Healthy project was held. Project Be-Heathly focuses on the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and type 2 diabetes, while promoting better health outcomes for populations living in cross-border rural areas of Croatia and Serbia.
During the conference, project activities, objectives, expected results, and the roles of partner institutions were presented. The event gathered representatives of project partners, healthcare institutions, and local authorities from the project area.
With a total budget of EUR 806,638.40, the project is co-financed by the Interreg IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme Croatia–Serbia.
The project partnership includes:
- Teaching Institute of Public Health of Osijek-Baranja County
- Institute of Public Health Sombor
- Institute of Public Health of Vojvodina
- Fund “European Affairs and Development of AP Vojvodina”
Be-Healthy will improve access to preventive healthcare services through:
- mobile healthcare units for preventive examinations
- a digital application enabling communication between patients and healthcare professionals
- nutrigenetic analysis services
- nutritional counselling
By strengthening cross-border cooperation and improving the availability of preventive services, the project aims to encourage healthier lifestyles and contribute to the early detection of risk factors for chronic non-communicable diseases in rural communities.
