As part of the Interreg Croatia-Serbia ECO(RE)ACT project, researchers and innovators showcased their work at several prestigious international fairs between November 2025 and January 2026, earning notable recognition for their innovation in microplastics research.
International Innovation Fair – Nuremberg (Germany)
From 3 to 6 November 2025, the team presented the innovation “Methodology for Determining Microplastics in Soil” at the International Innovation Fair in Nuremberg. Out of 600 submitted innovations, this methodology earned a bronze medal, highlighting its scientific and practical relevance. The team consisted of Brigita Popović, Marcela Šperanda, Mislav Đidara, Darko Kerovec and Daria Petrović from the Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences in Osijek.
International Fair IWIS 2025 – Warsaw (Poland)
At the IWIS 2025 fair held from 7 to 9 November 2025 at the Kopernik Center in Warsaw, the same innovation again drew international attention. From 300 innovations across 20 countries, it won both the Gold Medal and a special award from the World Organization of Innovators Association — underscoring the project’s excellence in environmental innovation.
IPITEX 2026 – Bangkok (Thailand)
Continuing into the new year, the team participated in IPITEX 2026, held from 5 to 9 January 2026 in Bangkok. Their contribution was again distinguished with a bronze medal, further validating the global relevance and impact of the ECO(RE)ACT methodology in addressing soil microplastics detection.

These awards reflect ECO(RE)ACT’s commitment to advancing environmental research and its successful translation into internationally recognized innovation. The recognition at multiple international forums demonstrates the project’s strong contribution to sustainable science and cross-border collaboration in the Croatia-Serbia region.
