During May 2018 seven projects were visited by project managers of the JS to check on progress in project implementation.
The JS performs monitoring visits of projects in order to review what advances have been made, are activities up to date and as planned, have any problems been encountered and how are project results contributing to Programme-level priorities. Both Croatian and Serbian partners are planned to be visited with the aim of field-monitoring project implementation and achievements. Besides the aforementioned, we use this chance to consult partners on project implementation, public procurement and risk management issues as well.
The first round of visits included projects from all four priority axes of the Programme.
- Project DRIVE will set up 4 laboratories at Universities of Novi Sad and Osijek and will train several generations of students on automotive industry. Project teams from Osijek and Novi Sad are currently acquiring automotive lab equipment.
- SeNS Wetlands is setting up a water monitoring system in order to develop a smart management model of wetlands. Zobnatica lake in Serbia and Tompojevački ritovi in Croatia are case studies currently being researched.
- By bringing together the traditional and contemporary of the Srijem / Srem region, ViCTour is introducing holograms, augmented reality tools and interactive totems in the region’s tourism offer.
- IMPACT – ENVI is developing a sustainable management plan for agriculture in the cross-border area. Current activities relate to assessing the effect of agricultural production on the environment.
- Take Care is improving palliative and social care services. You may recognize them by Take Care vans providing health care services throughout the Programme area.
- ORGANIC BRIDGE is one step closer to setting up the kitchen incubator, a part of Valpovo’s Center for organic production, in order to educate organic producers on agricultural products processing.
- R-SOLE is increasing energy efficiency of public buildings by installing solar power plants on 6 locations. One of them is Belišće’s kindergarten, shown in the photograph below.
All of the visited projects showcased significant progress and smooth implementation for the period being reviewed. In addition to presenting what has been achieved on projects, the partners used the chance to clarify all implementation-related issues with the project managers. In this way, the monitoring visits serve as face-to-face consultations, thus bringing added value to the visits and pointing out to innovative work behind the cross-border projects of the Programme.
