As part of the project activities, University of Novi Sad Faculty of Sciences organized the opening conference of the CREATEGREEN project with the aim of presenting the project, including plans, goals, and expected results of the project, as well as presenting the importance of renewable energy sources, climate services, and the methodology that can be used in the implementation of solutions based on renewable energy sources. The introductory conference was held in the Vojvodina Chamber of Commerce, on 5th December 2024.
The opening conference was attended by 30 participants from eight different institutions, including the project partners: Faculty of Sciences Novi Sad, Faculty of Philosophy Novi Sad, Scientific Veterinary Institute Novi Sad, City of Sombor, City of Osijek, Business Incubator BIOS, Provincial Secretariat for Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Provincial Secretariat for Regional Development, Inter-regional Cooperation and Local Self-government.
Six presentations were delivered at the conference:
1. Presentation of the CREATEGREEN project (Dr. Daniela Arsenović, UNSPMF)
2. Projects of sustainable energy sources in the area of the City of Osijek (Srećko Kukić, City of OSIJEK)
3. State of the climate service system in the Czech Republic (Ondre Dočkal, UNSPMF)
4. Renewable energy sources – good examples from Europe (Milica Vasić, UNSPMF)
5. Why should cities in the region focus on the “Go net zero” concept? (Dr. Stevan Savić, UNSPMF)
6. Networks of wireless sensors – previous experiences (Dr. Ivan Šećerov, UNSPMF)
The CREATEGREEN project is co-financed by the European Union through the Interreg-IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Croatia-Serbia. The project is co-financed in the amount of 1,872,801.60 EUR, and the total value of the project is 2,203,296.00 EUR. The project implementation is in the period June 2024-June 2026, and the project consortium consists of the Scientific Veterinary Institute Novi Sad (project leader), City of Sombor, University of Novi Sad Faculty of Sciences, City of Osijek, and Business Incubator LTD.
