About

Starting from the rich horseback riding tradition and cultural equestrian heritage, the HORIS project will enrich and diversify the tourist offer in the Programme area. With the co-existence of man and horse throughout the centuries in this part of Croatia and Serbia, the project foresees to develop tailor-made activities in which cultural and natural heritage will be rediscovered and brought closer to new visitors. The project will establish a horse trail with accompanying infrastructure needed for horse-riding and educate tourism operators, local community and farmers in order to integrate the cross-border tourism offer.

Partners

Municipality of Nijemci (CRO), lead partner of the project, will focus on service providers and educate them on the tourism perspective of horse breeding and horse riding.

Horse breeding association Vranac (CRO) will disseminate knowledge on the horse riding tradition in Srijem / Srem region, provide traditional uniforms and equipment for members and horsemen and organize tourist events.

Municipality of Ruma (SER) is in charge of coordination of Serbian partners involved in the project, specifically in questions concerning hypotherapy.

Secondary School od Food and Agriculture “Stevan Petrović-Brile” (SER) will organise services concerning hypotherapy and sports riding, especially on the newly developed horse trail on its premises.

Horse breeding association Srem (SER) will acquire traditional Srijem / Srem clothes and the traditional coaches that will be used for project manifestations, such as the Fijakerijada event.
