About

Rapid expansion of the ICT sector, although promising, does not have satisfactory support which can adapt to the demand and achieve sustainable economic growth. In addition, one of the leading European employers, the automotive industry, has focused on software and embedded systems. As a result, there is a growing need for engineers with adequate skills and ICT companies that can respond to the demand. The DRIVE project starts from here and sets a goal to enhance infrastructure and services of faculties involved in the project, in order to encourage development and competitiveness of the cross-border business environment. Project activities will result in new cooperation between partner institutions and companies, clusters and young professionals in the specific field of embedded systems of the automotive industry. Planned outputs of the project include setting up 4 laboratories for embedded engineering automotive industry, drafting a curriculum with project’s findings and setting up a cooperation network of enterprises and research institutions.

Partners

Faculty of Technical Sciences at the University of Novi Sad (SER) is the lead partner and in charge of project coordination and development of educational materials for students. The Faculty will install two laboratories as well, with the goal of providing a first step towards better education of engineers and specializing them for software development in the automotive industry.

Faculty of electrical engineering, computer science and information technology at the University of Osijek (CRO) will work on setting up labs for embedded engineering automotive industry and help train young scientists through scientific-research work in this specific branch of the automotive industry.

Library

A total of 4 automotive IT laboratories are set up at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad and Faculty of electrical engineering, computer science and information technology in Osijek.

Partners of DRIVE have presented their activities regarding modernizing laboratories and developing graduate-level curriculum and study materials for automotive software engineering at the IEEE Global Engineering Education Conference in 2018.
