On 14 April 2025 the time capsule of the future Creative Children’s Center, created for the creativity and creation of primarily children and young people, but also all other stakeholders of cultural life, was laid in Ernestinovo. This ceremony was attended by representatives of the Osijek-Baranja County, the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds, the Ministry of Culture and Media, the Croatian Parliament, as well as children and young people, artists and local residents.

With the aim of making naive art a cornerstone of economic revitalization and social inclusion, as part of the INNATUS project, which is co-financed by the Interreg VI-A IPA Croatia-Serbia 2021-2027 Programme, the Creative Children’s Center in Ernestinovo will be built and equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, while the Interactive Cultural Center in Subotica will be renovated.

The overall objective of the project is to strengthen the role of culture and sustainable tourism in the wider areas of Ernestinovo and Subotica by enhancing stakeholder capacities, building two cultural-tourism centers, and developing a distinctive cultural tourism offer based on the shared cultural heritage of naïve art. In doing so, the project fosters economic development, social inclusion, and social innovation across the cross-border region of Osijek-Baranja County and the North Bačka District.
