The first knowledge transfer meeting of the ECO(RE)ACT project was held on 5th February 2025 at Educons University, bringing together project partners from FAZOS, EDUCONS, and PZZP to exchange knowledge on sampling methodologies, microplastic analysis techniques, and extraction methods. The meeting opened with a welcome address and an overview of objectives, followed by expert presentations.

Prof. Dr. Nataša Stojić presented best practices for sampling and contamination prevention, emphasizing quality control in water, soil, and sediment sampling. Prof. Dr. Mira Pucarević discussed key instrumental techniques for microplastic analysis, covering FTIR, Raman spectroscopy, Py-GC/MS, and LDIR. MSc Galina Ćurčić introduced various extraction techniques, focusing on digestion solutions and separation methods. Each session included a Q&A, fostering discussion on practical applications. Additionally, practical training in the Educons laboratory was conducted, where participants had the opportunity to observe sample preparation techniques and discuss laboratory protocols for microplastic analysis.

On the same day, the Joint Research/Scientific Committee met to refine sampling protocols, address logistical challenges, and review plans for piloting key control points for microplastic monitoring. The Joint Committee for Writing Strategy focused on structuring the situational analysis, stakeholder engagement, and defining writing responsibilities for key project documents.

The event concluded with a summary of key takeaways and action points led by the Joint Steering Committee, emphasizing continued collaboration and standardization in research and documentation. The meeting successfully strengthened research coordination and knowledge sharing, advancing the ECO(RE)ACT project.
