Operation start date: 15 September 2024
Operation completion date: 14 September 2026
Budget: EUR 942.130,90
Number of partners: 3
Operation purpose and expected achievements:
The main goal of the project is to improve the quality and availability of public health services in the cross-border area with a special emphasis on ensuring equal access to health care, strengthening breast cancer prevention measures and raising awareness of the importance of early detection of breast cancer.
The project will increase the availability of health care and improve procedures for early detection of breast cancer in the initial stage of the disease by improving the quality of diagnostic procedures. The project partners will acquire modern diagnostic devices that enable more accurate, faster and less invasive diagnostics that contribute to a better outcome of treatment and recovery. Through the project, education and a symposium will be organized for medical personnel, which will enable the exchange of knowledge and the acquisition of new knowledge and skills, as well as familiarization with new technologies. A promotional public health campaign and workshops and education for target groups will be organized to raise awareness of the importance of early detection of breast cancer. The project will implement a pilot action to introduce new diagnostic procedures for the early detection of breast cancer in the cross-border region. The acquisition of new diagnostic devices with modern technology (mammogram with tomosynthesis and 3D ultrasound with advanced breast software) will improve new procedures for the early detection of breast cancer, and the introduction of new methods and standards of breast examination in the cross-border area and holding cross-border consultations will lead to an increase in quality of providing services. As a joint solution resulting from the project, a new diagnostic method will be introduced, which after implementation will be implemented in the General County Hospital Vinkovci and the Clinical Center of Vojvodina (they will acquire a polyvalent ultrasound device with advanced breast software). After their implementation, a new diagnostic method of elastography will be introduced that can be performed routinely. This procedure will continue as a standard medical procedure after the end of the project. The new method will be implemented simultaneously in the Clinical Center of Vojvodina and the General County Hospital Vinkovci, and mutual cooperation and exchange of knowledge and experience will advance and speed up the adoption of the new method and its implementation in clinical routine. The joint solution (new procedures for the early detection of breast cancer) will be adopted by all partner institutions and applied in their daily clinical routine after the end of the project.
