Interactive climate-service system – Use of green infrastructures and online toolkit for better adaptation and resilience to the hazards of climate change in the Croatia-Serbia cross border region (INTERCLIM)
Priority Axis 2: Cooperating for greener and climate change resilient programme area
Operation start date: 15 September 2024
Operation completion date: 14 March 2027
Budget: EUR 1.805.768,00
Number of partners: 4
Operation purpose and expected achievements:
The overall objective of this project is to increase and strengthen adaptive and resilience capacities of citizens and economy to climate change processes and weather hazards, and show how to effectively implement solutions on the field. The main outputs are:
– Pilot action: implementation of green infrastructure systems (‘green rooms’ with environmental monitoring systems) that represent an ‘outdoor living space’ concept
– Joint solution: creation of the toolkit that contains data from pilot action and various global/regional climate sources, available through an online platform with systematized recommendations for frequent climatic hazards such as heatwaves, pluvial/river floods, droughts and stormy weather. Joint solution will be taken up by project partners PUC City Greenery Novi Sad and City of Osijek.
Beneficiaries:
University of Novi Sad Faculty of Sciences (RS) as Lead Partner in the project will be in charge of overall project implementation and communication with project partners, development and installation of environmental monitoring systems in Novi Sad near deployed ‘green rooms’, creation of the ‘climate change adaptation and weather hazards resilience’ toolkit based on the interactive online climate-service system and mobile applications, organization and participation in communication activities related to nature-based solutions and climate change adaptation and resilience actions, work on thematic e-books, e-promo materials and project marketing activities, purchase of the IT equipment to provide technical support for website, platform and applications.
