On Thursday, 5 December 2024, the Kick-off Meeting of the PRO-EFFICIENT project was held in the Municipality of Mali Zvornik, Serbia.
Mali Zvornik, once a pioneer in energy production as the site of the first hydroelectric power plant on the Drina River over 70 years ago, now leads the way again as the Lead Partner in this cross-border initiative. The project aims to promote the use of renewable energy sources and enhance energy efficiency through the construction of solar power plants and sustainable practices, addressing the pressing challenges of modern energy demands.
The project runs from 15 June 2024 to 14 June 2026, spanning a total duration of 24 months.
The total project budget is EUR 676,152.80.

The meeting gathered representatives of the Municipalities of Mali Zvornik and Krupanj and the Cities of Požega and Kutjevo, who discussed expectations, potential challenges, and next steps for the project’s implementation. The enthusiasm and collaborative spirit among participants underscored a shared commitment to promoting sustainable development and energy efficiency in the region.
