We would\nlike to inform you that the Managing Authority and Joint Secretariat have\ntaken into consideration the requests made by the beneficiaries and also the\npositions taken by other Interreg programmes related to COVID 19 outbreak. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Consequently,\nthe Programme beneficiaries should take note of the following guidance on how\nto proceed: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According\nto the Programme eligibility rules, the activities have to be implemented in\norder for the costs to be eligible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In\naddition, the rules also state that \u201c Eligible costs are costs actually\nincurred by the LB\/PPs of a grant and paid solely by LB\/PPs which meet the all\nof the following criteria:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Programme\nbeneficiaries should first assess the situation based on\ninformation\/recommendations provided by the World Health Organisation,\nembassies, national health organisations etc. and only cancel meetings\/events\nor avoid travelling if there is an official\/institutional travel ban or travel\nwarning for a particular region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If due to\nthe COVID-19 outbreak, the meeting\/event\/travel would have to be cancelled,\nthen the beneficiaries should try to get their costs (travel and accommodation,\ncatering, venue etc.) recovered\/refunded. <\/p>\n\n\n\n However,\nfor costs that are not recoverable by any means, the MA\/JS has decided to grant\nan exception to the rules stated above and regard such costs as eligible. This\nrefers to costs paid or costs for which the payment obligation has incurred\n(under a receipt or contract) up to 13 March 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n It is to be\nnoted that the eligibility rules as stated in the Programme rules on\neligibility of expenditures and other relevant guidance documents have not been\nchanged, but the MA\/JS has only granted an exception to the rules for\ncancellations due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In\naddition, the Programme recommends <\/p>\n\n\n\n
