{"id":3959,"date":"2019-12-19T14:11:58","date_gmt":"2019-12-19T13:11:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/interreg-croatia-serbia.eu\/2014\/?post_type=novost&#038;p=3959"},"modified":"2019-12-19T14:11:59","modified_gmt":"2019-12-19T13:11:59","slug":"r-sol-e-story-published-on-euronews-portal","status":"publish","type":"novost","link":"https:\/\/interreg-croatia-serbia.eu\/2014\/novost\/r-sol-e-story-published-on-euronews-portal\/","title":{"rendered":"R-SOL-E story published on Euronews portal"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>After\nparticipating at this year\u2019s <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/interreg-croatia-serbia.eu\/2014\/novost\/tasting-the-regions-of-croatia-and-serbia\/\"><strong>finals\nof the REGIOSTARS awards<\/strong><\/a><strong>, partners of the\nR-SOL-E project welcomed journalists of Euronews to make a new episode of the\nSmart Regions show. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among 24 projects that entered the finals\nof the REGIOSTARS competition in Brussels in October 2019 was <a href=\"https:\/\/interreg-croatia-serbia.eu\/2014\/project\/r-sol-e\/\">R-SOL-E<\/a>, a project co-funded within the Interreg\nIPA CBC programme Croatia \u2013 Serbia 2014-2020. The competition was open to\nprojects that showcase new approaches and innovativeness in addressing regional\nchallenges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Europe\u2019s number one news channel<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The competition allowed R-SOL-E\u2019s results to reach wider audiences, among which were journalists of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euronews.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Euronews<\/a>, a widely recognized news channel that reaches almost 400 million people across 160 countries and in 7 different languages. Since its launch in 1993 in Lyon, Euronews brings local and global news about innovations, cooperation and the EU. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fighting pollution, developing supercomputers, setting up renewable energy innovations\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Journalists of Euronews have invited R-SOL-E partners to be part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euronews.com\/programs\/smart-regions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Smart Regions<\/a>, a show dedicated to presenting leading projects with a high added value for European citizens and the planet. Smart Regions tours European countries to find Cohesion Policy projects which brought real benefits to communities across Europe. During October, they visited Beli\u0161\u0107e, Gorjani and Novi Sad. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Decreasing energy consumption, increasing cooperation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"EU renewable energy project lights the way in Croatia and Serbia\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/H1vgiJLsDTk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Ljerka Vu\u010dkovi\u0107, project manager, explained\nR-SOL-E\u2019s importance: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&#8220;It is being\nutilized on public buildings, it&#8217;s being utilized on such buildings which are\nused daily by children or by our citizens. This is something that gives\ninnovation to this project. So we produce electricity for our purposes. But in\ndays when we produce too much, then the national power company actually takes\nit over and it gives us money for that energy. It is a kind of innovation in\nour region for public authorities to set an example in using renewable energy\nand to show what the benefits are.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cWhether is the\nfield of renewable energy, protection of environment or tourism, there is\nalways common ground. And I think that Interreg programmes, which are about\ncross-border cooperation, are allowing us to find common topics on which we can\nbuild bridges.
